Brown County Court Contacts

Official Brown County court docket and case-record questions belong with the custodian of the particular file. This page directs readers to the verified Clerk of Courts records counter and distinguishes Common Pleas, Municipal, and Probate and Juvenile Court routes. It does not provide a private-site intake channel or replace a court clerk’s instruction about a current case, a certified copy, or a hearing setting.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. This privately operated reference site cannot retrieve a docket, change or confirm a setting, remove or seal a record, issue a certified copy, or give legal advice. Direct those requests to the court or clerk with custody of the record.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Use the route that matches the court and the request:

  • Common Pleas docket or case record: begin with the official Common Pleas CaseLook page, then ask the Brown County Clerk of Courts for verified information or copies.
  • Municipal traffic, criminal, civil, small-claims, or parking matter: use the separate Municipal CaseLook route or contact Brown County Municipal Court.
  • Court date or weekly setting: review the appropriate court schedule and confirm a current setting with the court office, particularly after a recent filing or continuance.
  • Certified or plain Common Pleas copy: contact the Clerk of Courts with the case number and requested document; the Clerk FAQ publishes copy guidance and fees.
  • Probate or juvenile record: contact the separate Brown County Probate and Juvenile Court office rather than assuming it is in Common Pleas CaseLook.

For Common Pleas records, the verified records desk is the Brown County Clerk of Courts, Brown County Courthouse, 101 South Main Street, Georgetown, OH 45121, (937) 378-3100. The Common Pleas court publishes regular public hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. A Clerk-hosted Common Pleas page also lists Thursday service through 6:00 p.m.; because the official pages differ, call before planning a late-day counter visit.

Common Pleas Civil and Domestic Relations filings are handled on the first floor, while Criminal and Appellate filings are handled on the second floor. For an in-person file review, Brown Common Pleas Local Rule 34 describes supervised counter access. A case is not confirmed simply because it appears online: the CaseLook notices warn that postings can lag at least 24 hours.
